Making Ends Meet

Mary (name changed for confidentiality) is a Classroom Aid in Sanger and is recently married. This is her first time at a fresh produce distribution and she is waiting in line with both of her grandmothers. Typically, Mary’s grandmothers bring her some of the food they receive at the Neighborhood Market, but this time she decided to come and get some food for herself and her husband. “My family and I love the fresh fruits and vegetables we get – especially squash and grapes,” said Mary. She explained that this food will help her, as she and her husband recently moved out on their own and really need the help right now. It can be quite expensive when you first set out on your own and figure out how to balance all your bills! We are so glad we are able to provide Mary’s family with fresh produce and alleviate some stress.
